Nice - (Fall 2024) - Day 1

Arrival Day. We got there in the late afternoon. The hotel was within walking distance of the train station. After checking in we headed straight to the water.

Le Temps d'un Été

This was the first beach bar we came across and the view was how I imagined the Côte d'Azur. The breeziness probably made it a bit too chilly to have beach drinks at that time but I was not to be deterred on my first day in the French Riviera. Caught the sunset on the beach with some beers.

The beach here is made of pebbles instead of sand. Apparently the city intentionally makes it that way otherwise it would erode too quickly if it was sand.

Delizi Pizzeria

Got dinner here a couple blocks from the waterfront. Pizza with capers and anchovies and also some classic moules frites.

Elizabeth Bar

We headed out for some drinks and stopped here. Elizabeth is Polish and quite the chatty personality. Drinks are actually a bit pricey here but it sits in what would be the party zone in the high season. I was glad it was the off season.

Delano Cocktail Bar

The Delano is the bar for the Best Western Hotel but their cocktail game is pretty strong here. It is named for the US president and his picture is on the wall.
