Paul & Harvey’s

Paul & Harvey’s
Classic Sunnyvale dive bar sitting on Murphy Street and it actually looks like it fits in on Murphy - it’s not out of place in the middle of Silicon Valley. Seems like it has been here forever and it’s pretty spacious as bars go.
I was confused as to whether to include the “‘s” in Paul & Harvey since the sign leaves it out but it sounds better with the “‘s” and since they don’t have a website to correct me - “Paul & Harvey’s” it is.
It’s a cash only establishment staying true to its dive bar roots. It even has a cigarette dispenser - I didn’t know these still existed in California. It has pool tables, darts, but is missing the breath-a-lyzer thing in my dive bar trifecta but I’ll take the working cigarette dispenser as a proper substitute.
The pool brings in the regulars who bring their own cues. They have a good mix of after work crowds - both blue- and white-collar folks.
Boo! on the no dogs thing for a dive bar with no kitchen but either someone ruined it for everyone else with their jerk dog or they figured that having a carpet floor was too big a risk to have in case they had an incident which I can understand.
They have a full bar with a handful of nice whiskey’s, a few drafts, and a large bottle selection. Their decoration is actually a bit more organized than most dives - properly spaced and very orderly and such. Perhaps that’s the little bit of Silicon Valley seeping in?
