Some people may proclaim this as the oldest bar in SF but even the owners will qualify it as “one of” the oldest bars. The walls are still original but the inside has obviously been upgraded quite a bit. They still celebrate the history of the place.

They even have a 2 page handout for you to read about it. The name hails from when the tavern was operating out of parts of an actual ship.

This building is old enough that they will need to close for several months in 2023 for a structural retrofit.

Very nice classic bar that serves food and also has a pretty decent whiskey selection.
