10th Street Distillery
Why is “10th Street Distillery” on 4th street? Well, they recently moved to a better building that allows them enough space to have a tasting area.
A lot of small distilleries put out marginal product and rely on marketing to move bottles. Not this place. The whiskey is very good and surprisingly done right here in San Jose.
The owner went to Scotland to learn how to make whiskey and took his skills back home. They started out with just a peaty whiskey to start but now they make a pretty good range of products as they get more barrels into aging and are able to experiment a bit.
The tasting room is just some benches set aside in their warehouse but it’s a good chance to taste a wide range of what they make here.
